Want to hear 528 Hz, or 432 Hz, or any of the solfeggio tones without downloading anything? This site's Sound Studio has a pure-tone player built right in — free, offline, and private. Here's how to use it, and how to think about what you're hearing.

How to play a tone here

  • Open "Customize" in the top navigation to open the Sound Studio.
  • Under Soundscape, choose Pure tone.
  • Pick a frequency from the chips — 174, 285, 396, 432, 528, 639, 741 or 852 Hz.
  • Adjust the volume gently, add a little "Space" if you'd like it softer, and settle in.

What each tone is traditionally for

The solfeggio tones each carry a traditional intention — 396 Hz for letting go, 528 Hz for transformation and "love," 639 Hz for connection, and so on. Our complete solfeggio guide walks through all nine. There's also 432 Hz, an alternative musical tuning that many find warmer than standard concert pitch.

The honest note

These specific frequencies come from tradition, not proven science. There's no credible evidence that 528 Hz "repairs DNA," or that a particular number heals a particular part of the body. What's real is simpler and still worth a lot: a steady, gentle tone can be genuinely calming, and choosing one with a meaning you care about can deepen a meditation or breathing session. So play the tone you're drawn to — just for the calm and the intention, not for a cure.

A pure tone won't fix your body — but it can quiet your mind, and that's reason enough to press play.
